HC declines to hear petitions against CM KCR’s public meeting

Hyderabad,  (Liyaqat Hussain-PMI): The Telangana High Court today declined to hear the petitions filed by the farmers of Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly constituency urging to cancel the permission accorded to CM KCR’s public meeting scheduled to be held on April 14.

It issued orders to the registry of the court to transfer the cases to the bench which has roaster. As the HC has holidays on April 13 and April 14, there is no scope to hear the petitions before the scheduled public meeting. The ruling TRS party cadres are happy about the decision of the HC as it has cleared the decks to hold the public meeting.

In their petition, the farmers urged the HC to cancel the public meeting as it was being held in their farm lands without taking any permission from them. In their petition, the farmers also told the HC that no public meeting should be held as per the existing Covid 19 norms and wondered as to how the state government which is restricting the organisation of various festivals, has allowed the public meeting with one lakh people.

On the other hand, the chairman of go Seva foundation chairman Kolisetti Siva Kumar urged the state election commission to cancel the public meeting by keeping in view of the growing number of Covid 19 virus cases
