Haryana Youth Held for ₹1.23 Crore Cyber Fraud on Hyderabad Doctor

Hyderabad, Sept. 19 (Baquer Ali- PMI) The Cybercrime Police of Hyderabad City have arrested Nikhil Tiwari (25), a private employee from Gurugram, Haryana, for his involvement in a cyber fraud case in which a Hyderabad-based doctor was cheated of ₹1.23 crore.
According to police, the victim, a 45-year-old doctor, received a call on October 29, 2024, from a fraudster posing as a Post Office official. He was falsely told that a parcel in his name contained police uniforms, fake ID cards, debit cards, and ketamine injections. When the victim denied the allegation, he was connected to fake senior police officers via conference and video calls, who threatened him with arrest.

Police seized one mobile phone from the accused. Investigations revealed that Tiwari had also been involved in another fraud case in Maharashtra.
The operation was led by Inspector K. Satish Reddy, with his team under the supervision of ACP R.G. Siva Maruthi.
