Hyderabad, Telangana Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today lodged a complaint with the Centre against Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) for “showing partisan attitude” towardsTelangana State with regard to drawing waters.
In a letter to Union Water Resources Minister Nitin Gadkari, Harish Rao expressed dissatisfaction at the functioning of the Board and accused it of not fixing telemetry machines at the Pothireddypadu project. He also informed the Union Minister that the Board has changed the details of the water drawn by the Andhra Pradesh government. He pointed out that the Board was doing undue favors to the AndhraPradesh State.
Expressing displeasure over the KRMB’s tactics, Harish Rao said it has been showing partial attitude and delayed action deliberately to fix the machines to check irregularities being done by theAndhra Pradesh State. He warned of serious repercussions in future if other Telugu State indulges in serious irregularities continuously. He also urged the Centre to take initiative to protect the interests of Telangana on usage of river waters.
While the Andhra Pradesh government was playing spoilsport by drawing waters from projects illegally, the KRMB remained a mute spectator, he alleged. The Telangana minister urged the Centre to take immediate action and settle the issue
