Hajj 2026: Draw of Lots for Nizam Rubat Held, 695 Pilgrims to Receive Free Accommodation in Makkah

The draw of lots for Nizam Rubat accommodation for Hajj 2026 was held at the historic Chowmahalla Palace, under which 695 pilgrims from the former Hyderabad State were selected to receive free accommodation in Makkah.

Hyderabad Feb 05 (PMI) The draw of lots for accommodation at Nizam Rubat for Hajj 2026 was conducted at the historic Chowmahalla Palace, bringing good news for Hajj pilgrims from the former Hyderabad State. Through this transparent selection process, 695 pilgrims were chosen to receive free accommodation in Makkah during Hajj 2026, providing them with significant financial relief.

The draw was conducted digitally using special software to ensure fairness and transparency. The entire process was carried out under the supervision of members of the H.E.H. the Nizam’s Auqaf Committee.

Several dignitaries were present on the occasion, including Nawab M.A. Faiz Khan (Member, Auqaf Committee), Faheem Qureshi (President, Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society), Syed Ghulam Afzal Biabani Khusro Pasha (Chairman, Telangana State Haj Committee), Hussain Mohammed Madar-ul-Shareef (Nazir, Hyderabad Nizam Rubat), and Syed Akbar Nizamuddin (Member, Telangana Waqf Board). Other officials of the Haj Committee and eminent personalities also attended the event.

Nizam Rubat, located in Makkah, is a historic charitable institution established by the Nizam of Hyderabad to provide safe, comfortable, and free lodging to pilgrims from the former Hyderabad State during Hajj. The institution continues to serve pilgrims in coordination with the Hajj Committee of India and is regarded as a lasting symbol of the Nizam era’s philanthropic legacy.

During Hajj 2026, a total of 695 pilgrims will benefit from accommodation at Nizam Rubat, while 710 pilgrims availed the facility during Hajj 2025. All selected pilgrims belong to the former Hyderabad State. The free accommodation is expected to save each pilgrim approximately ₹55,000, substantially reducing the overall cost of Hajj.

On behalf of the Chairman of the H.E.H. the Nizam’s Auqaf Committee, Nawab Azmat Jah Bahadur, Nawab M.A. Faiz Khan congratulated the selected pilgrims and prayed for their safe journey and acceptance of their Hajj.
