Hyderabad, Jan.28 (PMI): Finance Minister, T Harish Rao today inaugurated a national horticulture show at Necklace Road here in the city. Former deputy speaker Padma Devender Reddy and others present. The Nursery Mela being conducted since 2015 and the show will be on till February 1.
On the occasion he gone through the exhibition and Interacted with participants came from several states. He exhorted the people to increase greenery and protect saplings for better non polluted environment. We need to increase green cover for providing better quality sir, copious rains and a, liveable environment, the minister asserted.
The show of horticulture has a large number of plants as exhibits from various states. The state has increased its green cover by 3.67 percent in Telangana, the minister claimed.
The Finance Minister attributed Haritha Haram program in the state to ensure pollution free environment. The credit of green cover expansion goes to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, Harish Rao said. The green and forest development is part our lives which must be free from pollution, he said.
Youth, people, institutions and students should play role in green cover expansion and protecting the plants, around he asserted. The show of green cover will help avoid mental tension, relief from. Stress and good air for better living, the minister said.
The show has 130 stalls including 7 medicinal plants, fruits, flowers and other attractive varieties. Two Telugu states, others participating in the expo open from 9 am to 9 pm. The plants cost range from Rs 10 to Rs 1 lakh, according to show managers. (PMI)
