The meeting of Home Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj today briefed leader of opposition parties about the stand-off with China and the situation in Jammu and Kashmir at a meeting in New Delhi.
Talking to reporters after the meeting, Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan said, Mrs Swaraj and Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar gave detailed information on border issues, especially on Doklam. He said, every party extended their support to the government to deal with the situation.
Talking to reporters Congress leader Anand Sharma said that national security is the priority for the his party. He said, Congress has suggested to tackle situation diplomatically and rising above politics for national interest.
Union Ministers Arun Jaitley and National Secuirty Advisor Ajit Doval were also present in the meeting. Mallikarjun Kharge from Congress, Sitaram Yechury from CPI(M), Sharad Yadav from JD(U), Mulayam Singh Yadav from SP, Satish Chandra Mishra from BSP, Tariq Anwar from NCP were among those attended the meet from the opposition side.
