Hyderabad : Mayor Bonthu Rammohan today said they made elaborate arrangements to immerse the tallest Khairatabad Ganesh idol by 1 pm on Tuesday and it never happened in the 30 years history of Khairathabad Ganesh idol.
The Mayor said the Ganesh idols’ immersion of Hyderabad city will be completed by the evening. The GHMC had made arrangements to remove the scrap immediately and all arrangements were made to see that the devotees do not face any hardships, he said. The GHMC had made arrangements to remove the scrap from the Hussain Sagar waters for every one hour to see that the water could not be polluted, he said.
Rammohan also said efforts of all departments for the last two months were yielding fruits. The Khairathabad Ganesh idol was immersed in the waters as per Thithi, Nakshtram amidst devotees. He said the State government targeted to see that the immersion of Ganesh idols be completed by 10.30 am. The youth fired crackers and children attracted with songs and dances in the Ganesh idols Shoba Yatra. Women carried huge flags along with cultural artistes taking the rain lightly.
The artistes of Language & Cultural Department accompanied Ganesh idols from Shalibanda, Saroornagar, Safilguda, Uppal, Amberpet, Secunderabad, Saidabad, Puranapul, Basheerbagh, Malkajgiri circles. They enthralled the devotees with their art forms.
