GANG GUILTY OF FORGING FAKE DOCUMENTS ARRESTED BY CYBERABAD POLICE

Hyderabad Jun 18 (PMI): Cyberabad Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has arrested five individuals who tried to sell open lands to gullible people by creating forged documents such as sale deed, Agreement of sale etc. in the name of oblivious purchasers in the limits of Cyberabad Police Commissionerate.

The case came to light when a complaint was filed on 20-3-2021. The complainant, who works in the real estate business, claimed that he was approached by Adinarayana Murthy and his associates who proposed to sell lands to the complainant. The lands were situated at Golluru Village in Ranga Reddy District. Upon agreeing to purchase the lands, the complainant was promised a Sale Deed registered in his name. The sale amount for 40 acres of land was around Rs 56 crore. The complainant paid an advance of Rs 8.5 crore via RTGS to M/S Jaya Dhasradhi Projects LLP on 06-06-2019.

The complainant followed up with Adinrayana Murthy for giving him the original Sale Deed, but was continually dodge. Due to continuous persuasion from the complainant, Adinarayana Murthy sent a photo copy of the Sale Deed from his mobile phone to the complainant’s mobile phone. When the complainant kept asking for the original Sale Deed to be handed over to him, the accused kept dodging the issue. After verification of the particulars of the Sale Deed at the SRO Office, the complainant found out that the Sale Deed was fake and no such Sale Deed was registered in his name. The complainant was cheated by Adinarayana Murthy and his associates for an amount of Rs 8.5 crore.

The accused were involved in the real estate business. They would identify open lands and sell the lands to unsuspecting buyers by impersonating the signatures of the original owners and fabricating Sale Deed documents. As per their plans, they identified open lands measuring a cumulative 37.6 guntas in Golluru Village, Ranga Reddy District.

The above complaint was lodged in Kukatpally PS and the investigation was later taken over by EOW of Cyberabad. Accused Adinarayan Murthy, Thavva Venkata Murali Krishna, Pippala Yadaiah, Kumbarti Ramu and Vaddi Ashok were arrested on 17-06-2021.

Cyberabad Police advised the public to be smart and not fall for such scams while purchasing real estate. They strongly recommended the general populace to verify the Encumbrance Certificates and land revenue records at the Tehsildar Office and SRO (Sub-Registrar Office) along with original ownership particulars of the land to avoid being duped by conman and fraudsters.
