G M SCR Arun Kumar Jain holds Review Meeting on Safety of Train Operations

Hyderabad, May 13 (PMI): South Central Railway General Manager Arun Kumar Jain conducted a detailed review meeting on safety of train operations across the zone today at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad along with Principal Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) / Addl. Divisional Railway Managers (ADRMs) of all the six divisions viz., Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded Divisions also participated in the meeting through Video conference.

          Arun Kumar Jain instructed the officials and staff to strictly adhere to the safety rules and procedures as per the Railway board guidelines issued from time to time. He also stressed on ensuring the safety in train operations and instructed not to follow any shortcut methods. He instructed the staff to be more vigilant while on duty to avoid any untoward incidents. During the review meeting, Arun Kumar Jain also laid focus on precautions to be undertaken at vulnerable sections, bridges, tunnels and their status of maintenance in view of the approaching monsoon season. The General Manager informed the concerned officials to ensure cleaning and maintenance of side water drains and waterways, provision of additional waterways etc., to avoid flooding of tracks and ensure smooth running of trains. He advised the officials and staff to ensure the safe working condition of equipment and undertake all necessary monsoon precautions.

          Arun Kumar Jain also reviewed the progress of various safety drives being carried out on the zone pertaining to Fire Safety and signalling systems. He also reviewed the status of comprehensive counselling sessions being undertaken for Loco Pilots/Assistant Loco Pilots and their family members across the six divisions. (PMI)
