Hyderabad, 10.08.2025 (PMI) – Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Secunderabad MP, and Union Minister for Coal and Mines, Government of Bharat, Shri G. Kishan Reddy, released a special poster for Arbaeen 2025 at the BJP camp office in Hyderabad. The event was attended by BJP State Spokesperson Mir Firasath Ali Baqri, along with community leaders Syed Rehan Hyder and Tahaur Ali Zaidi.
On this occasion, Shri G. Kishan Reddy conveyed the respectful tribute of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bharat, Shri Narendra Modi, to the memory of Hazrat Imam Hussain (a.s). In his message, the Prime Minister stated that “the sacrifices made by Hazrat Imam Hussain (a.s) emphasise his commitment to righteousness. He inspires people to uphold truth in the face of adversity.”
Speaking at the event, Mir Firasath Ali Baqri explained the historical and spiritual significance of Arbaeen, which is observed forty days after Ashura – the martyrdom anniversary of Hazrat Imam Hussain ibn Imam Ali, the grandson of the Holy Prophet of Islam Hazrat Mohammed Mustafa (s.a.w.s) and the third Imam of Shia Islam.
He recounted that Imam Hussain (a.s), along with most of his family members and a small group of loyal companions, was martyred in the Battle of Karbala on 10 Muharram, 61 Hijri. The battle occurred after Imam Hussain (a.s) refused to pledge allegiance to the Umayyad Caliph Yazid, who is often depicted by historians as impious and unjust.
In Shia tradition, the Battle of Karbala represents the eternal struggle between good and evil, the pinnacle of self-sacrifice, and a defining moment in safeguarding the prophetic mission of Prophet Mohammed (s.a.w.s). Arbaeen stands as a commemoration of these sacrifices and a reaffirmation of values such as justice, truth, and moral courage.
