Hyderabad, Nov.15 (PMI): Peeved at the decision of the Congress party high command to allocate Rajendranagar assembly segment to grand alliance partner TDP, senior Congress leader P. Karthik Reddy on Thursday announced that he was resigning from the party protesting the decision of the party leadership to not field him from the seat and concede the same to alliance partner TDP.
He is the son of and the son of former home minister P. Sabita Indra Reddy. Reddy sent his resignation letter to the TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy. He, however said that he would rethink on his decision if the party gave him the B-form and allowed him to contest from the seat. Reddy demanded the party leadership to review its decision and give the ticket to him from the constituency and fixed deadline of November 19, 2018. “I am resigning from the party as I was hurt with its decision. If the party high command wants give me the ticket then it should not accept my resignation. It has time till November 19,2018. If the party does not want to give me the ticket, then, it should accept my resignation. I will also contest in the upcoming elections as an independent candidate from the same seat,” he said amid the claps of his supporters and followers.
Reddy announced his decision after holding a meeting with his supporters and followers in the city. Several other congress leaders also tendered their resignation along with Reddy on the occasion. Karthik Reddy also levelled serious allegations against T-TDP president L.Ramana and alleged that he was selling off the party tickets in Telangana . (PMI)
