BJP:Firasath Baqri Seeks 5 Lakh Riyals Compensation for Families of Umrah Tragedy Victims

Hyderabad’No 16 (PMI) Mir Firasath Ali Baqri has issued an urgent appeal to the Government of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Hajj & Umrah—through the Indian Embassy in Riyadh—seeking compassionate financial assistance for the families of the Umrah pilgrims who died in the tragic bus accident on the Mecca–Medina route. The incident occurred when a pilgrims’ bus collided with a diesel tanker, triggering a massive fire that claimed multiple lives, many of whom were from Hyderabad, Telangana.

Grieving families are now facing emotional and financial hardships, while official investigations remain underway.

Calling for humanitarian support, Baqri urged Saudi authorities to grant 5 lakh Riyals compensation to each bereaved family, stressing that such assistance is essential for helping them cope with their immense loss. He expressed gratitude to the Indian Embassy in Riyadh and the Consulate in Jeddah for their swift coordination with Saudi officials and their support to the affected families.

Baqri also appealed to India’s External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar, to take up the matter with Dr. Tawfig Al-Rabiah, Saudi Minister of Hajj & Umrah, to ensure timely arrangements and compassionate measures.
