Hyderabad, Oct.26 (PMI): Hyderabad District Election Officer and GHMC Commissioner Ilambarti today said the Election Commission of India had announced the media awards in connection with the best campaigning that has worked towards raising awareness and sensitising voters in the year 2024 by focusing on the value of the vote and the exercise of the right to vote in a democracy.
He said nominations were being invited from media houses for the Best Voter Awareness Campaign Award for the year 2024. He said the awards would be in four categories — one each for print media, television, radio and online social media. “The main objective of the awards is to identify the media organisations that have shown importance in areas such as raising awareness on the voter rights and promoting issues of the election technology. The awards will be presented on the occasion of National Voters’ Day on January 25, 2025,” he said.
He noted that the awards would be decided on the basis of factors such as campaign quality, accuracy, public knowledge, providing correct information to voters, separate articles, discussions, and so on and added that the participating organizations in each category would be required to submit fact-sheets, including a summary of their campaign, news of publication or broadcast, and other related campaign activities. He said the nominations should be sent to Rajesh Kumar Singh, Under Secretary (Communication), Election Commission of India, Nirvachan Sadan, Ashoka Road, New Delhi-110001 by December 10, 2024 and added that the nominations can also emailed to media-division@eci.gov.in and an English translation should also be attached if it is in languages other than Hindi or English.
