DY CM Batti holds meeting with Transport, BC Welfare depts on budget preparation

Hyderabad, Jan.23 (PMI): Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka held a meeting with officials of the Transport and BC Welfare departments for preparing  the annual budget for the financial year 2024-25 at the Secretariat here on Tuesdaya

            Minister for Transport and BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar, Special Principal Secretary (Finance ) Ramakrishna, Principal Secretary of Transport Srinivasa Raju, Secretary of Transport department Jyothi Buddha Prakash, RTC MD Sajjanar,  Finance Joint Secretary Haritha, Deputy CM Secretary Krishna Bhaskar and others were present.

            Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister directed the officials of the Transport department to explore innovative ways to generate additional revenue.

            He said the people have high expectations on the Congress government and the State government is committed to fulfill all the promises announced in the manifesto.

            Batti Vikramarka said the State government will financially support the TSRTC for the implementation of the Mahalakshmi programme which allows free travel facility to women on the Corporation buses.

            The officials were directed to explore ways of increasing internal revenue sources and to prepare an action plan for improving  the performance of the transport department.

         The Deputy Chief Minister stated that since the revenue growth in the current financial year is not as expected, the budget proposals need to be made according to the actual situation.

            The officials were asked to prioritise improving the performance of BC residential schools in Telangana. He also directed to prepare a comprehensive study of various schemes to enhance the skills of artisans in the State. (pressmediaofindia.com)
