Hyderabad Jan 1 (PMI): The CTP conducted drunk and Drive test on the eve of New Year’s celebrations on December 31st – January 1st night in Cyberabad Commissionerate limits, CTP conducted extensive and night long Drunk and Drive tests to curb drunk driving in view of road safety.
The DCP Traffic Cyberabad said totally 868 Drunk and Drive cases were registered against persons who were under the influence of alcohol.
Though wide publicity was given requesting public to not to resort to this dangerous activity, it was disappointing to see that lot of highly educated and employees of reputed organizations were also found violating this critical traffic rule.
All these persons shall have to attend mandatory counselling along with their family members at Traffic Training Institute, Madhapur and then they shall attend the Court for final disposal. They would face a penalty of upto Rs. 10000 and/or imprisonment along with Community service as punishment.
CTP urges citizens to respect traffic rules to be safe on roads. The drive against drunk driving will continue throughout 2020 also and strict action will be taken against the repeat offenders.
