Hyderabad, Nov 6(PMI) An interstate drug racket operating between Bengaluru and Hyderabad was busted by the Special Operations Team (SOT) of Hyderabad Police on Thursday. Six individuals were arrested, and 130 grams of ganja along with 18 grams of MDMA were seized during the operation in Rajendranagar.
Acting on credible intelligence, SOT teams intercepted a group of drug peddlers near Aramghar Road. Based on their interrogation, three consumers were later detained in Rajendranagar, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rajendranagar Zone) Yogesh Goutam.
The arrested peddlers were identified as Sangadi Santosh (26), Gandhi Sandeep (23), and Kandepalli Shiva Kumar (23). Police said they were transporting drugs from Bengaluru to Hyderabad.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused had established contact with their suppliers through Instagram. The suppliers are said to be residents of Kakinada, Rajahmundry, and Bengaluru. Among those arrested is an IT professional who purchased the drugs for personal use.
Police also confiscated five mobile phones from the accused. The overall market value of the seized narcotics is yet to be assessed. (pressmediaofindia.com)
