Hyderabad, The Rachakonda Police has managed to make an impact on the crime scene with a significant drop in the number of reported crime cases in 2017.
In 2016, the total number of cases reported under eight important crime categories was 3,153. This year, till December, the same number has been pegged at 2,979. These are spread over the categories of murder for gain, dacoity, robbery, rape, murders, attempt to murder, fatal road accidents and non-fatal road accidents till December 20.
The total number of cases booked under the murder for gain category in 2016 was six, while in 2017, the number was just two. There were 85 murder cases in 2016 while in 2017, the number dipped to 59. Fatal road accidents in 2016 were pegged at 699 while in 2017, the same was 617. There were 1,926 non-fatal road accidents in 2016 while in 2017, 1773 have been reported so far.
