Hyderabad, Oct.19 (PMI):District Election Officer and GHMC Commissioner Ronald Ross has instructed the officials to ensure that the distribution and reception centres (DRCs) of EVMs were kept ready with all facilities without any hassles. On Thursday, the district deputy election officer, along with Hyderabad district Collector Anudeep Durisetty, police commissioner Sandeep Sandilya and additional commissioner of police Vikram Singh Mann, inspected the distribution and reception centres set up for various constituencies in the city.
On the occasion, the District Election Officer first visited the DRCs of Musheerabad Assembly constituency in LB Stadium and proposed to set up a DRC centre of Musheerabad constituency in AV College. He also visited the DRCs of Chandrayangutta constituencies to be set up at Nizam’s College and instructed the officials to complete repairs, if any, at the earliest. He also inspected the DRC centre at Koti Women’s College for Goshamahal constituency, Charminar at Kamala Nehru Polytechnic College and DRC centres for Yakatpura constituency to be set up at Sarojini Naidu Vanitha Maha Vidyalaya.
He inspected Nampally constituency DRC to be set up at JNTU Fine Arts College, Government Polytechnic College at Masab Tank, DRC of Karwan constituency and DRC of Bahadurpura constituency to be set up at Technical Education Bhavan.
Subsequently, election officials and police officials were asked to take strict security measures at the EVM storage centres to avoid any lapses. He directed the officials to complete any repairs in the buildings where the EVMs were stored at the earliest and prepare the DRC centres. The police commissioner has been asked to deploy central forces for 24 hours to prevent any untoward incident. (Press media of india)
