Hyderabad, October 21(Shoukat_-PMI) In a gesture of support and appreciation, Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) B. Shivadhar Reddy visited injured police constable Syed Asif at Green Field Malla Reddy Hospital in Abids on Tuesday. Asif was wounded during a courageous effort to apprehend an armed criminal.
Accompanied by Additional DGP (Law & Order) Mahesh M. Bhagwat and Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar, the DGP inquired about Asif’s recovery and commended his heroic act.
“Despite the accused being armed with a knife, Asif showed exceptional bravery and managed to apprehend him. His actions reflect true courage and dedication to duty,” said Mr. Shivadhar Reddy.
Doctors confirmed that Asif sustained a fracture to one of his arm bones. A successful surgery was performed to restore the limb to its original condition. The DGP assured that the constable’s current health status is stable and he is responding well to treatment.
Importantly, the DGP announced that the Telangana government will cover all medical expenses incurred during Asif’s treatment.
Asif, who previously earned his livelihood as a welder, recently joined the police force. His bravery has earned widespread admiration within the department.
“The Police Department will extend all necessary support to Asif and his family during this time. He is likely to be discharged from the hospital within the next two to three days, although a full recovery may take a few months,” Mr. Reddy added.
