Hyderabad, July 7 (PMI): Director General of Police Anjani Kumar today said the youth plays a great role in nation-building and added that the youth has a major role to play in bringing about development, progress and social reforms in the country. He handed over laptops to 80 underprivileged students and students from various bastis of Hyderabad city at a function organised by Akshaya Vidhya NGO at the DGP’s office here. IG Ramesh Reddy and representatives of various NGOs participated in the event.
Speaking on the occasion, the DGP called upon the diligently educated youth to identify their fellow youths, who are taking the wrong path in their bastis and areas and make efforts to ensure that they take the right day’s path. He said development was not just about big and big buildings coming up, it is also important to bring the marginalised sections of the society on the path of development. He said once they get good jobs, they should inculcate the habit of helping others.
He said the youth of the country would decide the future of the country and added some youth were attracted towards evil ways and urged them to make sincere efforts to change them. He said, “Telangana is the 5th largest State in the country with the largest economic growth and if you study hard, you will get the highest number of job opportunities in pharma and human resources sectors. Be it science, technology or sports, the youth have a key role to play in the development of any other field,” he said, addin that the contribution of NGOs in helping the youth was commendable.
The DGP specially congratulated Ramesh, a young man, who secured a seat in IIT Kharagpur. Vivekananda, Hema Pratap, Arundhati, Janardhan, Manoj Gupta and Prakash participated in the event. (PMI)
