Deliveries in Govt Hospitals on Rise: Lakshma Reddy

Hyderabad, Health Minister Dr C Lakshma Reddy today expressed content at the increasing number of deliveries in government hospitals. He held a review meeting with districts health officials on hospitals and KCR Kits distribution and response from people. Speaking on the occasion the minister stated that the institutional deliveries are on rise since six months from 33 per cent to 41 per cent. He appreciated the medical and health officials for checking the spread of contagious diseases and encouraging the deliveries in the government hospitals. Taking a call from Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao we have take intensive steps for deliveries in hospitals he said. Remote Adilabad district set a record by seeing 82 per cent of deliveries and Medchal saw the least 5 per cent deliveries he said. The minister directed that the officials take immediate steps to increase staff and machinery and equipment at government hospitals in Medchal district for the benefit of poor women. He also said that distribution of KCR Kits is also giving positive results as the rural women giving priority to government hospitals. Lakshma Reddy expressed pleasure that the officials could prevent the possible spread of viral and contagious diseases by taking steps in advance. The minister asked the officials to take measures to ensure that at least 50 per cent deliveries done in the government hospitals and increase it to 100 per cent. KCR Kits program is giving positive results he said adding that Adialabad saw 82 per cent,Hyderabad 78 per cent, Warangal urban 76 per cent and Mahabubnagar 58 per cent deliveries.  The collectors and health officials of 11 districts with agency areas should focus on checking the spread of viral diseases he said.
