2,561 km of pipelines so far.. 2.03 lakh manholes cleaned
Hyderabad’Jan 26 (PMI) : The de-sealing work undertaken by the Water Board to clean pipelines and manholes has been extended by another 90 days, said Water Board MD Ashok Reddy and ED Mayank Mittal. They congratulated the officials and staff who are carrying out the waste removal work expeditiously to this end. It was revealed that 2,561 km of pipelines and 2.03 lakh manholes have been cleaned across the city so far.
De-sealing works to clean all pipelines and manholes in Hyderabad were started on October 2 last year. After getting good results in 90 days, the deadline for removing the waste was extended by another 90 days. The MD and ED of the Water Board were advised to further expedite the waste removal work undertaken in the name of Sewerage Overflow Free City-Hyderabad. The concerned CGMs and directors were advised to review the progress of the work from time to time. They were instructed to reach the target within the stipulated time.(PMI)
