Hyderabad, April 30 (PMI): The police today arrested BJP senior leader and former Union minister Bandaru Dattatreya for staging a dharna in front of Dr BR Ambedkar statue at Tank bund demanding justice to Intermediate failed students in the State. He was later taken to Nampally police station.
Several other BJP leaders were also arrested by the police. BJP MLC N. Ramchender Rao was arrested while he was proceeding towards the Pragathi Bhavan to lay a siege along with other workers. Former MP and BJP leader A P Jithender Reddy was kept under house arrest by the police. The police had a tough task in controlling the BJP leaders and activists as scores of them turned up at the Pragathi Bhavan in batches. The police also kept ready tear gas shells to face any law and order problem. (PMI)
