Hyderabad Jun 16 (PMI): There has been a lot of cases reported regarding sale of duplicate and expired cotton seeds by luring innocent farmers and cheating customers to make huge profits. In one such case, Cyberabad Police raided Sunrise Agro seeds Pvt. Ltd, Devarayamjal village on a reliable information received from Special Operations Team of Balanagar. The raid was conducted under the Police Station limits of Pet-Basheerabad and apprehended four persons who illegally stored BG-II cotton seeds and selling expired seeds and seized BG-II cotton seeds weighing 13000 kgs from their possession.
The accused Sriram is the Managing director of Sunrise Agro seeds Pvt Ltd, sy.no 753, Devarayamjal village, shameerpet mandal and bought Cotton seeds Lodha BG-II (ZCH-501 DHRUV Gold BG-II) Seeds packets manufactured by M/s Senthil seeds pvt ltd r/o 72, karur main road, Kolathupalayam, TN and also obtain marketing contract for one year. The cotton seeds expiry date is 08.02.2020 and Sunrise Agro seeds godown is closed from last three months. The sun rise agro seeds company did not return the remaining expired cotton seed packets to Senthil seeds pvt ltd and without any rights and prior permission from concern authorities, accused Sriram along with Shiva Nageswar Rao, Shakamuri Venkateswar Rao, Ashwin Kumar & Anjireddy filled the seeds into loose ganny bags and supplying to accused Srinivas who is Managing director of kurnool seeds Pvt Ltd at kurnool. For sale to farmers under branding of Kurnool seeds Pvt.Ltd, Hyderabad, Thereby cheating farmers and without permission from agriculture Department.
The operation made under the supervision of Commissioner of Police Cyberabad and Addl.DCP, SOT Cyberabad. The initiation taken and efforts made by SOT Balanagar Zone along with Pet-Basheerabad Police with the assistance of Agriculture officers in apprehending this Seed Racket is highly appreciable and they will be rewarded suitably.
