HYDERABAD’ 7’Jan 2024 (Shoukat-PMI) In a significant breakthrough, Raidurgam police, under the Cyberabad police commissionerate has successfully apprehended a notorious ransom kidnap gang. The gang, involved in 23 cases across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, employed a strategy of conspiring with the close associates of hostages to demand substantial amounts. The main accused Gunjapogu Suresh, residing in Attapur, Hyderabad, stands as a notorious criminal involved in kidnapping and ransom cases since 2011, starting his criminal journey at the age of 16. His criminal record spans theft, robbery, and kidnappings across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
DCP T srinivas rao IPS said’ The accused A1. Gunjapogu Suresh residence of Attapur, Hyderabad is the most Notorious criminal in HB&ransom for kidnapcases and he had started crime in the year 2011 when he was a minor, aged 16 years and involved in many theft, robbery and kidnap for ransom cases inTelangana and AP States and he is the brother of the Notorious HB criminal Gunjapogu Sudhakar. The accused Gunjapogu Suresh was addicted to all bad vices in friendship from his childhood and wanted to live luxurious life. As he is ahabitual offender in the ransom kidnap cases, he planned to earn easy money, in such a way he formed a gang with other criminals i.e., A4 Ramagalla Raju @ Laddu, A5. Shinde Rohith, A6. Chandu and A7. Venkat to commit ransom kidnap cases to on easy money by demanding hostage families.Likewise, the gang of A1. Suresh kidnapped several known and unknown innocent persons.
In this present case, the victim Gurram Surendar is the cousin brother of the A3. Miss GurramNikitha. The A2 BalliparaVenkatakrishna and A3. Miss GurramNikithagot acquaintance in the company called Fabricon situated at Gachibowli and soon they fallen in love each other. The A2 BalliparaVenkatakrishnahad criminal background and involved in PITA, NDPS Act and other cases in the limits of Cyberabad and Hyderabad Commissionerates. The A2 BalliparaVenkatakrishna got acquaintance with A1. Gunjapogu Suresh and his gang in the jail,where the A1 informed that they are the most powerful gang in the ransom kidnap cases and already committed several kidnaps in the both States i.e., TS & AP and informed the A2 if there is anything like that, we can able to work it out and will provide your share from the extorted money.
In the month of October-2023, the A2 Ballipara Venkata Krishna met A1. Gunjapogu Suresh and his gang and suggested his MD, Shiva ShankaraBabu to kidnap for ransom. In the execution of the same, A1. Gunjapogu Suresh and his gang colluded with A2 and kidnappedA2’s MD,Shiva ShankaraBabu and extorted an amount of 02 lakhs rupees and share the amount among them.
In this present case, in the month of December-2023, the A1. Gunjapogu Suresh approached the A2 Ballipara Venkata Krishna and his lover A3 Miss GurramNikithaasked for the work as he is suffering with insufficient funds for his lavish life. As the A2 and his lover A3 also planning to settle in life by getting marriage and for the same they also need lumpsum money to lead their conjugal life in the luxurious manner and when searching for a well settled right person to kidnap, the A3 Miss GurramNikithasuggestedher cousin brother Gurram Surendar to kidnap for ransom as he was financially well settled by doing Hardware jobs both wife and husband. Recently, they have also purchased a new house in the Hyderabad and conducted house warming ceremony. A1. Gunjapogu Suresh and A2 Ballipara Venkata Krishna have agreed with the suggestion of the A3 and they all decided to kidnap the victim GurramSuurendar. The A1. Gunjapogu Suresh collected the all personal and whereabouts of the victim GurramSuurendar from theA3. Initially, the A1 conducted reccee at the residence and work place of the victim, but he could not succeed. Later, the A1 & A2 requested the A3 to get the victim person for a place what they suggest at nearby. In the part of that, on 04.01.2023 in the evening hours, the A3 called the victim person to meet her at Khajaguda Lake road, Khajaguda to discuss about her personal issue. Without knowing the criminal conspiracy of the accused, the victim Surendar came to the spot and met the A3 and while talking with the victim, the A1along A3,A4,A5,A6 and A7 who already waiting for the opportunity came to the victim and forcefully took him into the car and fled away from the spot. As per their plan, the A3 came to the police station lodged a kidnap complaint and she smartly managed the police and family members of the victim as she is innocent. In the execution, the A1 called the wife of the victim and demanded for 02 crores rupees. As the accused came to know that, the police tracking their vehicle, they come down to 20 lakhs of ransom. On the way, when the accused vehicle reached Kadtal, they got stuck up due to some mechanical defect of the vehicle. Immediately, the A1 contacted the A2 & A3 and asked for a car, in turn, the A2 & A3 went to the house of the victim and took the car of the victim and handed over to A1 and his gang at Kadtal. When the police continuously tracking their whereabouts, on fear the accused moved toward Srisailam forest road, when they reached Atmakur forest check post, after observing the police, they hit the check post barricades and fled away from the spot by leaving victim and the vehicle.
On credible information, on 06.01.2023, the Raidurgam Police apprehended the accused persons and brought them to police station. On systematic interrogation, the accused persons have confessed their guilt of offence.
EFFORTS MADE BY POLICE LEADING TO THE ARREST OF THE ACCUSED PERSONS:
With the commendable efforts of the Raidurgam Police, The victim was rescued within 48 hours from the hands of the and apprehended the accused.
