Cyberabad Police Hold “Reward Mela” to Honour Officers for Securing Convictions

Hyderabad, (Najaf Ali Shoukat-PMI): The Cyberabad Police organized a “Reward Mela” at the Cyberabad Commissioner’s Office Auditorium, Gachibowli, to recognize the outstanding performance of officers and prosecutors in securing convictions in criminal cases. The event was chaired by Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty, IPS.

During the event, a total of 78 personnel — including 18 Public Prosecutors/Additional PPs, 27 Investigating Officers, 22 Court Duty Officers, and 11 Liaison Officers — were felicitated with commendation certificates and rewards for their exemplary work in various conviction cases.

Between March 1, 2025, and September 30, 2025, Cyberabad Police secured 28 convictions, including 11 life imprisonments, 6 sentences of 20 years, 8 of 10 years, and 3 of 7 years.

Commissioner Avinash Mohanty commended the officers for their dedication and teamwork in achieving successful convictions. He emphasized the importance of thorough investigation, proper evidence collection, and strong coordination between the police and prosecution teams. He also urged officers to focus on cheating and forgery cases to further enhance public trust in the criminal justice system.

The Commissioner directed all Zonal DCPs to conduct monthly review meetings with prosecutors and investigators to strengthen coordination, track pending trial cases, and expedite bail cancellation and property attachment petitions under Section 107 BNSS.

Joint Director of Prosecution Smt. P. Shailaja highlighted the importance of collaboration between the police and prosecution wings to improve conviction rates and ensure effective case management. Deputy Director of Prosecution Dr. P. Manjula Devi noted that recognition programs like the Reward Mela play a vital role in motivating officers and boosting morale.

Senior police officials, including DCP Crimes A. Muthyam Reddy, Madhapur DCP Ritiraj, IPS, Medchal DCP N. Koti Reddy, IPS, Shamshabad DCP B. Rajesh, Rajendranagar DCP Yogesh Goutam, IPS, DCP Special Branch B. Sai Sri, Women & Child Safety DCP Srujana Karnam, and others attended the program.
