Cyberabad CP Stephen Raveendra, IPS, hands over Rs 11.6 lakh cheque to deceased home guard’s family

Hyderabad, May 5 (Zahid Hussai -PMI)Cyberabad Police Commissioner Stephen Raveendra, IPS, today handed over a cheque of Rs 11,60,000 to the kin of G. Srinivas of Medchal Traffic PS, a Home Guard, who lost his life in a road accident on January 25.

The cheque was handed over to the victim’s family in presence of Jt.CP Traffic  Narayan Naik, IPS., Addl. DCP Traffic  Srinivas Reddy, ACP Medchal Traffic  Venkat Reddy, Inspectors Narsimha Reddy.

On January 25, 2023 at about 1230 pm G. Srinivas of Medchal Traffic PS met with accident while performing his duty at Kandlakoya Junction and died while shifting to hospital. The victim belonged to a poor family. He was having wife and two kids. All police officers visited the hospital and expressed deep condolences.

Thereafter, with the consent of superior officers, police started collecting contributions on behalf of Cyberabad police for his family members and collected Rs 11,60,000. The contributors are from Traffic, L&O and other wings of Cyberabad, Hyderabad, RCK Commissionerates. The people generously came forward to support the family. Further, Corporate sector in (CSR) group came forward to help the survival of the victim family members.

The Cyberabad Police also persuaded the HDFC Bank officials as the deceased was maintaining HDFC Salary Account. The bank officials issued a cheque towards insurance of Rs 30 lakh and the same was handed over to the victim’s family members by the Addl. DGP Madam Abhilasha Bist, IPS, on behalf of the DGP. Today the collected amount of Rs 11,60,000 was ready and being handed over to the family of victim.

The Medchal Traffic SHO B.N.S. Reddy announced to give Rs 2500 per month to victim’s mother for one year. Cyberabad CP Stephen Raveendra, IPS, handed over the cheque to the family members and extended thanks to each and every participants, who contributed to help the poor victim’s family. The Police department was extending all benefits to home guards on par with police constables. (PMI)
