Cyber Crime Awareness Programme Conducted at FTCCI, Nampally


Hyderabad, Nov 15 (PMI) As part of the “Jaagrut Hyderabad – Surakshit Hyderabad” initiative, a Cyber Crime Self-Awareness Programme was held at FTCCI, Red Hills, Nampally. The event was led by DCP Central Zone Smt. K. Shilpa Valli, IPS, ACP Saifabad, Sri R. Sanjay Kumar, and Inspector K. Narayana Reddy of Nampally Police Station.

Students were briefed on growing cyber threats such as online job frauds, malicious APK links, betting and loan app scams, matrimonial deceit, digital arrest frauds, and OTP-based cybercrimes. Officers highlighted the need for caution while navigating the digital space and urged participants not to trust unknown calls, links, apps, or offers that promise effortless earnings.

The DCP advised students to avoid sharing sensitive information like passwords, OTPs, or banking details, and to stay alert to fake video calls and infected APK files. Awareness videos were screened during the programme, followed by a Cyber Safety Pledge reaffirming responsible online conduct.

Officials encouraged students to report cybercrime cases immediately to 1930 or use the portal cybercrime.gov.in, emphasizing collective efforts in building a safer digital ecosystem.(pressmediaofindia,com)
