CS briefs scribes from African countries of monumental development in Telangana

Hyderabad, Aug.23 (Newslines): Chief Secretary Dr S.K. Joshi has informed a delegation of 23 journalists, editors from Francophone countries in Africa that the Telangana government was looking forward for better relations with African countries in the field of Health, Urban Development, Agriculture, Industries, Food Processing sectors and so on.

The African delegation met the Chief Secretary today at the Secretariat. Finance Principal Secretary Rama Krishna Rao, I&PR Commissioner Arvind Kumar and Media Academy Secretary Rajamouli, were present.

The Chief Secretary briefed the visitors that the Telangana was the youngest and 29th State in India formed on June 2, 2014. The State was developing faster with a growth rate of 17% to 18% whereas the National growth rate was around 8% to 9%. Hyderabad having 450 years of history with people was exhibiting a combination of modern and traditional culture. It has pleasant climate with combination of North of South and South of North. he added. Joshi said the Telangana has shown progress in Information Technology due to best Educational institutions, available infrastructure facilities and hard work of the people and also developed in manufacture and services sector.

The Chief Secretary said the State government was focusing on mainly to provide best Education to the vulnerable sections of the society. In the next five to 10 years, there will be drastic transformation in the field of education in the State. The government was also providing financial assistance to the eligible candidates for pursing their overseas education, he said and requested the delegates to visit one of the residential schools in the city.

            The State government’s “Telangana Ku Haritha Haram”, Mission Kakatiya (Protection and revival of Water Bodies), Rythu Bheema, Rythu Bandhu and constructing Major Irrigation Projects at faster pace in the State, taxation, preparation of budget, allocation of funds, legislation, welfare schemes, Educational activities were also discussed during the meeting.

Finance Principal Secretary K. Rama Krishna Rao said IT, Industry, Pharma, Defence, Banking, Hospital, Services Sectors were playing major role in the economic development of the State. Arvind Kumar said as a part of India’s commitments under the 3rd India–Africa Summit (IAFS-III) under Development Cooperation Projects, External Publicity and Public Diplomacy Division is organizing a Familiarization visit for Journalists/Editors from Francophone countries in Africa from August 19 to 25.

They are visiting Hyderabad from August 22 to 25. The delegation comprises journalists from Benin, Cameroon, Chad, Djiboti, Congo, Ivory Coast Madagascar, Mali, Morocco, Niger, Senegal, Togo, Tunisia. In Hyderabad, they will visit Metro Rail, T-Hub, TCS, Genome Valley, Ramoji Film city, Falaknuma Palace, GMR Hyderabad International Air Port, Double Bedroom Houses at Ziaguda.
