Hyderabad/Warangal Feb 1 (PMI): Commissioner of Police Warangal Dr. Tarun Joshi IPS today convened meeting with all officers of Warangal for Zero tolerance against Ganja & other drugs. Instructed the officers to make Warangal free from Ganja by taking all suitable measures. Central, East, West Zones DCPs & all other officers attended the meeting.
It is not out of place to remind that in the month of October 2021 Dr Tarun Joshi held a special meeting with the police authorities at the auditorium of the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal to discuss the drug menace and steps to be taken to curb the cultivation, transport and consumption of ganja under the Warangal police commissionerate limits.
Dr Tarun Joshi IPS CP Warangal said in above special meeting that the Chief Minister was keen on eradicating the menace in the State and directed the Police Department to make all efforts to curb the consumption of ganja. “The police officials at each PS should collect information on persons involved in cannabis and gutka smuggling in the past as well as information on people who cultivated cannabis and their current status besides collecting information on those who consume it,” he said, adding that a robust informer system should be set up to track down the perpetrators of marijuana trafficking.
