Hyderabad, Oct. 6 (Najaf ali Shoukat-PMI): Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar IPS on Monday visited Madannapet police station in the city.
After assuming charge as the city police Commissioner, this was his first visit to the Madannapet police station. During the visit, the Commissioner reviewed the progress of various cases, policing aspects, communal situation, and other related matters.
He interacted with the staff, enquired about their daily duties, attendance, and discipline, and also inspected the police station records.
Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner stated that the Hyderabad city police will focus on people welfare Policing, which aims to enhance public safety and strengthen the relationship between the police and citizens.
“People welfare policing will focus on maintaining peace and order, traffic and road safety, protection of women and children, use of Artificial Intelligence in policing, control of cyber and financial crimes, 24/7 citizen services, and welfare of police personnel. Building public trust in the police is our primary duty. Every officer must perform duties with discipline and dedication. Outstanding performers will be suitably rewarded, while those indulging in misconduct will face strict disciplinary action,” he said.
The Commissioner further instructed that:“Every petitioner who visits a police station must be treated with respect. They should feel that justice is being done. There should be no negligence in registering cases. In all cases related to women, FIRs must be registered promptly and investigations completed without delay, with charge sheets filed expeditiously. Every complainant should leave the police station with complete satisfaction.”
During the visit, Azeemuddin Farooq, father of the recent murder victim Sumayya, personally met the Commissioner and expressed gratitude for the swift and effective investigation and arrest of the accused. Later, the Commissioner visited the sensitive localities of Madannapet, inspected police pickets, CC cameras, and reviewed the preparedness of the local police. He also interacted with the residents and enquired about their welfare and concerns.
