Hyderabad, January 26:(PMI) In a move aimed at strengthening public safety and improving surveillance, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Golconda, Sri G. Chandra Mohan, on Sunday inaugurated a network of 12 CCTV cameras at Bhagat Singh Yuvasena Street No.1, Kargil Nagar, Jiyaguda. The initiative was launched on the occasion of the 77th Republic Day.
Speaking on the occasion, DCP G. Chandra Mohan said that ensuring the safety and security of citizens reflects the true spirit of the Constitution. He described the installation of CCTV cameras as “electronic eyes” and stated that the initiative would help create a safer environment while strengthening trust between the police and the local community.
The Station House Officer (SHO) of Kulsumpura Police Station said that the newly installed cameras would be integrated with the local police monitoring system, enabling effective patrolling and quick detection of crimes. He added that continuous surveillance serves as a strong deterrent to anti-social activities.
The SHO also appealed to residents of Kargil Nagar to remain vigilant and cooperate with the police by promptly reporting any suspicious activities, emphasizing that community participation plays a key role in crime prevention.
The programme was attended by local police officials, members of Bhagat Singh Yuvasena, and prominent residents of the area. (pressmediaofindia.com)
