Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao paid tributes to martyrs of Telangana movement and later, hoisted the national flag at the State-level function held at Pragathi Bhavan at 9.30 am.
Hyderabad:2 June(PMI) Telangana State Formation Day celebrations were held across the State on Wednesday in a low-key affair on account of the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic. As per the decision taken by the State Cabinet on Sunday, the national flag was hoisted by the nominated dignitaries in all the districts in strict adherence to Covid-19 protocol.
President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended greetings to people of Telangana on the occasion of State Formation Day. They recalled the long struggle and sacrifices of people for a separate State
The nominated dignitaries including Ministers, Government Whips and others unfurled the tricolour in their designated districts. As per the norms, the chief guests paid floral tributes at the Telangana Martyrs’ Memorials in their respective locations followed by hoisting of the national flag.
In view of the pandemic, a maximum of 10 persons were allowed for the celebrations besides taking precautionary measures like wearing masks, physical distancing, sanitisation of the venue and also sanitisers for individuals. A contingent of 12 personnel performed the National Salute and the Guard of Honour as the national flag was unfurled.
