Hyderabad, Upholding the argument of the prosecution, the Nampally Criminal Court here today rejected the bail petition of noted singer Gazal Srinivas, who was
in judicial custody in connection with sexual harassment case.
Concurring with the prosecution view that the accused might threaten and parrot the witnesses if granted bail, the Court dismissed the bail petition. The Court also expressed displeasure at the police for their “negligence” in the case and dismissed their plea for police custody of the accused. The police filed cases under 304, 304A, 509 IPC sections against Gazal Srinivas. The Court also took serious exception to the police sending CDs of Gazal Srinivas to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) without submitting them to the Court. The Court also chided a police for claiming that Accused No 2 Parvathi was absconding.
