COUNSELLING SESSION AGAINST HARASSMENT & TEASING OF WOMEN FOR 190 RESPONDENTS AND THEIR PARENTS/GUARDIANS

Hyderabad’Oct 13 (PMI) During Ganesh Festival, 2023 total 488 persons were caught red handed by SHE Team at different places and crowded areas. One of the aims and objectives of She teams is to correct the misguided youth.   Counseling sessions are conducted for the respondents and their parents with help of expert psychologists and counsellors to sensitize them towards respecting women and to guide them in a proper way to come up in life.

  As a part of this objective, counselling session was conducted on 13-10-2023 between 11.00 hrs -14.00 hours at Old Commissionerate Office, 5th Floor, Basheerbagh for a total of 190 respondents, who were caught for creating nuisance, teasing women at public places, Minors – 19, Majors – 171 along with their Guardians and Parents- 103, total 293 members by Smt Geetha Challa, Expert Psychologist and her Team consisting (9) other counselors.

The undersigned also interacted with the respondents and created awareness about SHE Teams, explained them about the importance of counselling and to take maximum benefit out of the counselling, further sensitized them to respect women and not to indulge in any harassment or teasing of women in future.

Dr. Gajarao Bhupal IPS, Jt. Commissioner of Police, Crimes & SIT, Women Safety, Hyderabad City was the Chief Guest. He interacted with the parents and guardians and explained that parents tell the girls on how to behave but not the boys and emphasized on the importance to sensitize the boys on how to behave with women and told that parents should guide their children and monitor their behaviour.

Specially, Challa Geetha, Expert Counsellor and Team explained the quote i.e., “Mind is the Master and body is the follower”, conducted various practical activities and role plays to experience and feel the pain that the women undergo for their behaviour and not to repeat such kind of activities in future. The respondents promised that they will behave well and share the details about She teams, with their friends also.

All She team in charges, Inspector, She teams, Smt Dhana Lakshmi, ACP, Prasanna Lakshmi, the team of counsellors from Mano Jagruthi, led by Gita Challa, staff of Women Safety Wing, Hyderabad were present in the session. (Press media of india)
