Alampur, Nov.19 (PMI): BRS president and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao alleged that it was the Congress party that brought Valmiki Boya caste people into Backward Classes (BCs).
Addressing the Praja Ashirwada Sabha at Alampur in Jogulamba Gadwal district on Sunday, the Chief Minister said that even though a resolution was passed in Telangana Assembly by the BRS government seeking to include Boyas into STs, the Union government had ignored the resolution and had not taken any steps to do justice for Boyas.
“The Rajolibanda Diversion Scheme (RDS) was started in Telangana in 1952 and aimed at providing irrigation facility to 85,000 acres of land, but the leaders from Rayalaseema region in the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh illegally diverted water to their area. The leaders of Telangana Congress turned a blind eye when Rayalaseema leaders were diverting water illegally from RDS, KCR pointed out.
He alleged that Congress leaders never worked for the interests of the Telangana region and they were helpless even though the Rayalaseema leaders did injustice to the Telangana.
The Chief Minister assured that the BRS party would work for the rights of Valmiki Boyas and it would lead to a struggle in the days to come till the Boyas were converted into tribals.
He also slammed the Congress leaders for promising that the Indiramma rule will be brought if their party is voted to power in Telangana.
The Chief Minister has urged the people not to believe the words of Congress leaders who can make any mischievous promises to secure power in the upcoming Assembly polls. (PMI)
