Congress responsible for South Telangana backwardness, PRLIS game changer KCR accused the Congress of neglecting the Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme (PRLIS) in the erstwhile Mahabubnagar district during their regimeKCR,
WANAPARTHY”Oct26(PMI) Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party Chief and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) has accused the Congress of neglecting the Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme (PRLIS) in the erstwhile Mahabubnagar district during their regime
“It is the BRS Government which operationalised the PRLIS Scheme intended to irrigate 12.3 lakh acres of uplands by switching on the first pump of the first-stage lift of the project at Yellur-Narlapur in Nagarkurnool district. Nine more pumps will also be added to the Scheme which will fulfill the drinking water needs of South Telangana residents,”KCR said, while addressing the ‘‘Praja Ashirvada’ Sabha here on Thursday.
KCR said that the PRLI Scheme would help the Mahatma Gandhi Kalwakurthy Lift Irrigation Scheme overcome its shortcomings as the source of water for both the lift schemes is the backwaters of the Srisailam project. With the availability of water for both drinking water and irrigation needs, the region was transformed into the ‘Varipantla Wanaparthy’ from ‘Valasala Wanaparthy’. “Why did the Congress leaders from the region fail to bring a medical college? It was the ministers Niranjan Reddy and Srinivas Goud who achieved five medical colleges in the erstwhile Mahabubnagar district,” the Chief Minister said, and called upon the people not to get deviated by the hoodwinking promises of the Congress and once again bless the BRS to power for the holistic development of the region.
Criticizing the Congress party for ignoring the real development of Muslims, KCR said that the Congress had only used the Muslim community as a vote bank and done nothing concrete for their welfare. The BRS Government constructed residential schools for Muslims and other weaker sections. Telangana was the only State in India where a huge number of girls from minority communities were educated, he said.(Press media of india)
