Nalgonda, Alleging that Nakrekal MLA Vemula Veeresham was brain behind the murder of Nalgonda municipal chairman Boddupalli Laxmi’s husband Boddupalli Srinivas, TPCC Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy today alleged that Srinivas’ murder was government’s murder. He alleged that the Nakrekal MLA orchestrated the crime to weaken Nalgonda MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy politically. The Congress leaders released the photos of Veeresham along with culprits.
After consoling Boddupalli Srinivas’ family on Friday along with TPCC vice-president Mallu Ravi, Uttam reminded that Srinivas’ family cried in the fast at Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao that they have life threat. The police did not arrest the culprits even after two days after the murder, he said and alleged that KCR was “backing” the ruling party leaders, who have criminal background. Uttam Kumar condemned the murder and enquired about the details from family members. The case should be handed over to CBI to bring out the facts, he demanded.
CLP leader K Jana Reddy accused the ruling party of systematically trying to weaken the Congress party. He demanded that the police examine Srinivas’s phone call data. Alleging that the ruling party was provoking violence in the State, .he said truth will come out if the case was handed over to the CBI. He said the government made the culprits kill Srinivas as the Congress leaders were exposing its scams. He also alleged that Srinivas received threat calls for the last four months asking him to shift his loyalties.
AICC secretary V Hanumanth Rao alleged that Srinivas murder was best example for negligent attitude of the TRS government. He alleged that the police were not arresting the culprits due to pressure from above.
Leader of Opposition in the Council Shabbir Ali demanded that the State government shift DSP Sudhakar from there. Congress leaders Boodida Bikshamaiah and others were also present. The police tightened security in Nalgonda town to see that no untoward incident could take place.
