The national debate hoisted by the BJP on the issue of triple Talaq of Muslim women, beef eating was just aimed to divert public attention on the burning problems faced by people like fuel prices, prices of tomato, adverse impact of demonetization and GST.’ The economists and financial experts had exposed the mis-management of the economy by the government leaders causing a down swing in GDP growth ‘ he quipped.
The LOP said the people of Telangana and Maharashtra had many things in common and Nanded was part of Hyderabad state and was nursed by the Nizams till Hyderabad became part of India. The MIM party which dominated in the old city since last 50 years today accounted for one MP, seven MLAs and forty cooperators in GHMC but hardly brought any changes in the living conditions of poor Muslims and landscape of old Hyderabad. ”The Muslim population is still poverty stricken, low literacy, living in unhygienic surroundings, without good roads etc”, he said the MIM leadership of Owaisi brothers are living five star comforts of five acre bungalows and lavish lifestyle.’ Majority of Muslims are daily wagers, without basic civic facilities and distraught with menace of Arab marriages of their innocent teenage daughters under the influence of quazis, brokers with local political backing of MIM leadership.
The LOP said all the development work in Old city was done during the congress regime. Even the Medical college and Engineering College run by MIM were sanctioned during congress regime to help minorities but dons of MIM were allotting seats to Non -Minorities to pocket heavy donation fees.
‘The MIM credit for Muslim reservation is not true and a false campaign. Their performance on the floor of Telangana Assembly exposes their falsehood on how they opposed Muslim reservation’ he said and contended that only Congress party had remained committed towards socio-economic development of Muslims and provided 4% reservation for education and employment’.
As a result thousands of Muslims got jobs and lakhs of Muslim youth were able to pursue higher education .The Congress government granted 6 medical colleges for minorities out of that four are functioning and two more to start, said Shabbir.
He fervently appealed to voters of Nanded Municipality to not be fooled by bogus claims of MIM leaders and candidates and do not trust the poll promises which they never fulfill. Look at what has happened in GHMC area which is now ravaged by heavy rains inundating roads, colonies and houses. Even parks, markets have been affected and the TRS Government supported by MIM has haplessly declared holidays for schools and government offices, rather than face the music. He said that the political parties with communal background should not be trusted as they may not be available after the polling.
