Hyderabad, June 23 (Ali Abbas-PMI): Reports have surfaced regarding alleged attempts to alter the historical structure of the revered Alawa e Sartauq Mubarak, sparking outrage among the Shiite community. Concerns have been raised over the loss of its ancient architectural heritage, attributed to unauthorized committees and individuals.
Community members claim that the majestic structure, which dates back to the Qutub Shahi era, has already suffered damage and is now at risk of losing its remaining antiquity. Allegations suggest that certain entities aim to exploit the site for personal gain under the guise of restoration.
According to the reliable sources, the Awqaf Committee H.E.H. The Nizam’s Secretary Abdullah Qadri has denied granting any permission for such modifications, stating that no official approval has been sought or provided. Heritage Department guidelines also reportedly prohibit such changes without extensive clearances, which, as per legal experts, require approvals beyond the jurisdiction of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).
The Shiite community has urged AIMIM President and Member of Parliament, Asaduddin Owaisi, to intervene and protect this cultural and religious landmark.
Sources highlight that committees operating under the name “Moinul Ikhwan” are allegedly illegitimate and lack any legal standing. Experts caution that altering the original design could lead to disassociation from the Archaeological Department, jeopardizing the monument’s heritage status.
Amid these developments, questions arise about whether the concerned authorities, including the Heritage Department’s Awqaf Committee, H.E.H. The Nizam and Waqf Board were consulted, or permissions were sought for the proposed alterations.
The community demands immediate government intervention to safeguard the sanctity and historical value of Alawa Sartuq Mubarak, ensuring that unauthorized activities do not compromise this treasured site.(pressmediaofindia.com)
