Hyderabad-Feb’13 (PMI) The process of depositing funds under the Rythu Bharosa scheme, which is being implemented mainly for the welfare of farmers in the state, is continuing. Officials announced that funds have been deposited in the bank accounts of farmers with an area of up to three acres under cultivation. In this process, Rs. 1230.98 crores have been deposited in the accounts of 9,54,422 farmers. Similarly, another 56,898 farmers with land less than 2 acres have received funds of Rs. 38.34 crores, Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao said.
So far, a total of 44,82,265 farmers have benefited in three installments. Rs. 3487.82 crores have been released for 58 lakh 13 thousand acres of land. The minister clarified that the government’s aim is to provide incentives to the agricultural sector by providing direct investment assistance in the accounts of farmers under this scheme.
The state government selected a village as a pilot project on January 26 and started the distribution of Rythu Bharosa funds. Since then, funds have been deposited in the bank accounts of farmers in three tranches. Officials revealed that 17.03 lakh farmers received Rs.557.54 crore in the first tranche, 13.23 lakh farmers received Rs.1091.95 crore in the second tranche, and 10.13 lakh farmers received Rs.1269.32 crore in the third tranche.
Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao said that funds will also be deposited to the remaining farmers soon. He clarified that farmers should use these funds for their agricultural needs and that steps are being taken to provide funds without any hassle from the government.
Officials believe that this scheme will help farmers reduce the burden of expenses and further strengthen the agricultural sector. The government hopes that the Rythu Bharosa funds will increase crop production and provide financial security to agriculture-dependent families.(PMI)
