Hyderabad, Dec.1 (PMI): Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to farmers by announcing the disbursement of Rythu Bharosa funds after the Sankranti festival.
Speaking to the media at his residence here on Sunday, the Chief Minister assured farmers of continued support through the Rs.500 bonus for paddy procurement and urged them to disregard “deceptive promises” from opposition parties like BRS and BJP.
He revealed that a cabinet sub-committee led by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka has been formed to finalize the modalities of the Rythu Bharosa scheme. The policy will be discussed in the Assembly before implementation, Revanth Reddy said.
He further encouraged farmers to cultivate high-yield varieties like BPT, HMT, and Telangana Sona, emphasizing the Congress government’s farmer-centric agenda.
The Chief Minister also criticized the previous BRS government for burdening the State with Rs.7 lakh crore debt.
“Despite inheriting such massive liabilities, we have fulfilled our promises, including clearing Rs.7,625 crore of pending Rythu Bandhu dues immediately after assuming office,” he stated.
Highlighting achievements, the Chief Minister said, ” Rs.20,616 crore worth of loans have been waived, benefitting 25.35,964 farmers in Telangana,”.
Revanth Reddy criticized the BRS government’s decade-long “betrayal” of farmers through unfulfilled promises and alleged mismanagement of irrigation projects. He dismissed BJP leader Kishan Reddy’s criticism, calling him a “Gujarat Gulam” with no authority to comment on Telangana’s issues.
The Chief Minister reaffirmed Congress’s legacy of prioritizing farmers, from former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru to former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Rajasekhar Reddy, stating, “Congress has always worked to empower farmers.
“Our Rythu Bharosa will continue uninterrupted, ensuring financial security for every farmer in Telangana,” he said.
The Chief Minister also appealed to farmers to reject the “falsehoods” of opposition parties and place their trust in the Congress government. (PMI)
