Hyderabad, 28th November (PMI NEWS): The Civil Defence Training Institute, operating since 1977 at the premises of the old Commissioner of Police, Purani Haveli, Chettabazar, Hyderabad, continues to train citizens and Home Guards in civil defence to prepare them for emergencies, natural disasters, and terrorist threats. The institute was established under the Civil Defence Act (Act 27 of 1968), passed by Parliament on 24th May 1968 and enforced from 10th July 1968.
The institute provides a five-day basic training to citizens aged 18 to 45 who have completed at least 10th grade. Experts from the police department, including the bomb squad, fire service officers, and government doctors, conduct the training.
