Hyderabad, Dec.21 (Press media of India): The State capital Hyderabad has recorded 22060 crimes in the current year so far. City Police Commissioner C V Anand revealed this during his annual year-ending crime review meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, Anand said the year was ending on a peacefulnote. Talking about the drug cases registered in the city limits, the CP said a total of 273 drug cases were registered in the State capital and added that they had arrested 1082 accused in these cases including 13 foreigners.
Talking about Operation Smile, the CP said they had rescued 791 persons under it this year and added that they rescued 910 persons under the scheme last year. He noted that 74 girls and 717 children were among those rescued by them. Anand said they had registered 2249 Cyber crime cases in 2022 and added that they had successfully cracked 226 cases so far. He said of the total 92 hacking cases reported, eight cases were cracked by them.
Commenting on the ATM, Debit, and credit card fraud cases, the CP said a total of 386 cases were reported this year and added that they were able to solve 35 cases so far. Talking about the cases related to communal hate-filled posts online, he said of the total 68 registered cases, four cases were solved so far and added that they were able to solve five matrimonial cases out of the 11 registered.
Speaking about cases registered by the Task Force wing of the city, Arvind said it had registered 1703 cases and arrested 3187 people. About the number of complaints received by SHE teams, the CP said the teams had received 2292 complaints in the current year and 2766 complaints in the last year.
Talking about crimes against women, the CP said a total of 2524 cases involving crimes against women were registered under the commissionerate limits and added that 296 rape cases, 126 kidnap cases, and 1418 women harassment cases were among the total cases. He said they had opened 91 rowdy sheets this year and added that they had recovered 62 percent of the total stolen property of ₹25 crores so far. (PMI)
