: A team of police officials comprising 70 CIs and SIs today staged a silent protest at “C” block at Secretariat here seeking promotions.
The officials alleged that a related file is pending with Home Minister Narsimha Reddy, who is yet to take a call. The police officials of 1989 to 1991 decried that the government was neglecting their demand of giving promotions for years. Injustice meted out to us during combined state and now are facing same problem in our own state they deplored.
They called on Chief Secretary SP Singh and urged him for the speedy justice. Singh is learnt to have promised to take up the issue with Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. They urged that the government take decision for promotions as DSPs in 5th zone of Hyderabad.
