Chinese Manja being made locally: CP CV Anand IPS

Hyderabad, Jan.16 (PMI): City Police Commissioner CV Anand made important comments over the usage of China Manja.

Addressing media persons here, he said the Chinese Manja was not being imported from China and made it clear that it was being made locally. “It is because of this reason, a large quantity of manja is available at a lower price and this is the reason why more people are buying it,” he said.

Stating that bookings of the Manja on e-Commerce sites and their home deliveries are also going on in the city, he said all the e-commerce godowns will be raided by them. He said they  can stop the use of the Chinese manja only if people come forward voluntarily. “I appeal people to stop using the Chinese manja at least for now,” he said.

Two people injured

Despite the government’s ban on the usage of Chinese manja and the registration of several cases by the police, there is no change in some people. The China manja is causing tragedy in families. While some are losing their lives, others are getting seriously injured. In a fresh development, a man named Javed Sailan, who was riding a bike at Ramareddy in Kamareddy district, was injured by the Chinese manja around his throat and started bleeding profusely.

Locals who noticed it shifted him to Hyderabad for better treatment. Javed Sailan has been identified as a resident of Bala Colony. In another incident, another accident took place under Narayanguda PS limits in Hyderabad. Shivaraj, who works as a Langarhouse traffic police officer, was getting down from Narayanguda flyover after completing his duties when the Chinese manja got his skin torn to some extent after it was wrapped around his neck. The injured has been shifted to a private hospital for treatment. (PMI)
