Hyderabad: The Commissioner’s Task Force (South) team raided a bangle making unit at Uppuguda and rescued six children found working there.
Acting on a tip off, the team raided the unit located at Uppuguda under the Chatrinaka police station limits along with revenue officials early on Wednesday.
The owner, Rajesh Das (39) of Sultan Shahi and a native of Bihar brought the children – all aged below 14 years – and made them work in hazardous conditions, Task Force (South) Inspector S Raghavendra said
The parents of the children were paid very less and the children were made to serve as bonded laborers and toil for long hours in the bangle making unit, the Inspector added.
Rajesh Das was handed over to the Chatrinaka police for further action.
