Hyderabad, April 18 ( Zahid Hussain – PMI): A rape accused, who created a sensation across the State by raping a minor girl, got 20 years’ rigorous imprisonment The accused, who has been identified Rajani Kumar, committed the heinous crime on a five-year-old girl from DAV school. The incident took place on October 17 last year.
Rajani Kumar was working as driver of the principal of DAV school. The police arrested him two days later on October 19, 2022. It was found that the driver had committed rape on the child for two months. The parents of the girl found out about the brutal crime after observing changes in her daily behaviour and lodged a complaint with police. The parents of the children of the school not only attacked the accused but also damaged the car of the principal.
The police later arrested the principal Madhavi. The State government cancelled the permission of the school after the incident. However, it later restored permission following representations from the parents of the students of the school. The State government also constituted a fast track court to hold a speedy trial in the case. (PMI)
