Hyderabad,(PMI) : Within 24 hours, the police cracked the case of chain snatching that took place in Abdullapurmet police station and arrested the accused. Police recovered 3 tola gold chain, bike and cell phone from the accused. DCP B. Saishri disclosed the details in a press conference organized at the DCP office in LBnagar on Saturday. Varikuppala Sivakrishna (29) of Gosukonda village, Pochampalli mandal, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district runs a finance business. Due to financial difficulties, he planned to commit thefts. He decided to chain snatch old people who were walking alone. Sivakrishna came to Balamma and asked him to get on his bike saying that he was going that way. Having trouble walking, she got on a bike. After going some distance, he stopped at a deserted area, snatched the gold chain from her neck and escaped on the bike. Based on the complaint of the old woman, Abdullapurmet police registered a case and started investigation. The accused was identified on the basis of CCTV camera footage and arrested at Guvvaleti Crossroads on Saturday morning. Unfortunately, the matter of chain-snatching has come to light.
