Hyderabad, April.14 (press media of india): Union minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Dharmendra Pradhan today inaugurated the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan at Suryapet, Telangana today. Speaking on the occasion he said that the Centre would provide 20lakh LPG connections to Telangana state. He said that in districts of Telangana like Mahaboobabad, Jayashankar Bhupalapalli, Konstantinos Bheem Asifabad, there are households which do not have LPG. He said 6 refills of LPG would be provided to consumers with subsidy. He said that there were 707 distribution points in Telangana and another 1000 would. Soon be opened. There would be no Mandal without LPG distribution outlet.
Pradhan said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that women would be provided LPG connections to mitigate their difficulties while cooking on chullahs . He said the centre has provided 3 crore 46 lakh LPG connections in the past 4 years.
The minister further said that the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan would be implemented from April 14, the birthday of Baba Saheb Ambedkar the architect of our Constitution to May 5, 2018.
The centre is committed to improving the lives of the poor and the downtrodden, he added. The minister distributed the LPG connections to the beneficiaries.
Bandaru Dattatreya, Member of Parliament, Dr.K.Lakshman, MLA, Ramchander Rao, MLC, HPCL, BPCL and IOCL officials have attended in the programme. (PMI)
